The Cabinet Maker has done three major projects for us and we can enthusiastically recommend him. John Philips has assembled an excellent team of supporting trades to assist with electrical, plumbing, painting, tile and flooring tasks. The ‘Details Matters’ mantra of the Cabinet Maker is apparent in John’s attention to the care, quality and craftsmanship of his work. John is also an excellent communicator. We knew at each step what to expect so there were never any surprises. We are sure that the Cabinet Maker will do great work on your project.

John made the experience of updating my kitchen cupboards positive and successful! He offered suggestions, guidance and recommendations, and was patient while I made decisions. He was very professional and a good communicator. He and his crew took precautions considering the coronavirus while working in my home It was an excellent experience! My kitchen looks great!

We did a full kitchen remodel with John during the summer of 2021 and I would enthusiastically recommend his team and service to anyone. In our experience, John was exceptionally organized, responsive, detailed, and thoughtful. Every part of the process was well documented and discussed. We wanted to make some fairly significant changes to our kitchen layout including expanding an opening, incorporating new space in to the kitchen, and changing a window. While we understood practically what we wanted, John brought his experience of function and design to make a space that worked the best it could and was esthetically beautiful. Because we were working with a custom cabinet maker, we were able to create solutions that we really wanted like dual appliance garages to hide our frequently used small appliances. Our timeline was flexible, so we did wait a few weeks to get started on the demolition, but that ended up being a blessing. John was able to order and build our pieces while we waited to start work at home. It was exciting to get an occasional email update with photos of the work in progress. The timeline provided was detailed with reasonable amounts of buffer for issues or overlap. Through the course of the project we stayed pretty darn close to that outline, sometimes a bit faster sometimes a day or two slower. John did a great job managing expectations for costs and timeline. By in large everything ran rather smoothly. The few things that were a bit difficult (like appliance delivery during a pandemic) were far outside his control. We had John run our entire project for us including selecting all the service providers. John’s high standards and expectations are reflected in the quality of individuals he partnered with as well. We were working from home during the whole process and every person in was professional and the quality of work impressive. We love everything about our new kitchen. It is beyond what we had imagined.

We had been thinking about remodeling our kitchen for more than a few years. We finally decided to take the plunge; but where to begin? We were a bit intimidated by the task before us. We enlisted the services of an architect and he introduced us to John Phillips. That was our day of special blessings!

We were immediately impressed with John during our initial consultation. We were so comfortable with his manner; we called him that night to tell him he was our choice for the job. He made a personal commitment to us that he would use his best efforts and skill to give us the quality kitchen we wanted. AND HE DID!

John’s attention to detail is outstanding. Our home is older, and there were many challenges to be met with floors that were not level and walls that were not square. Those challenges were met to our great satisfaction. He scribed the end panel of our pantry that meets a masonry wall; it fits so perfectly, everyone takes special notice and comments on how skillfully the work was done. The superior effort he put into crafting our cabinets will ensure that we will enjoy their beauty far into the future.

If you are looking for a craftsman with integrity and outstanding skill, I would recommend John Phillips without hesitation!

We have a 1920’s bungalow with original kitchen cabinets. We desperately wanted a dishwasher and we could only pull it off with a custom sink cabinet. We called on John, who designed a blueprint that matched our 1920’s kitchen cabinets. From its hardware to its molding, the new addition matched perfectly. John even used a bamboo counter top, that not only looks great but is also eco-friendly. Remodeling a home can be an intimidating endeavor with a myriad of details to consider.  Remodeling a kitchen can be especially challenging and stressful due to the loss of use and high expense with all the demands this particular room requires. John took our poorly laid out, isolated kitchen — with storage space so inadequate we couldn’t even add a dishwasher without losing a third of our cabinets — and turned it into a storage-laden centerpiece I know we’re going to have a ton of fun in.  In addition, this kitchen is green conscious, FSC Certified materials were used, reclaimed wood, recycled wood and energy efficient LED under cabinet lighting. Green and gorgeous; what a great combination!

My cabinets and drawer fronts in the kitchen were a throwback to the 1970’s and they didn’t go well with the rest of the updated house. Due to the layout of my kitchen, I could not really start over from scratch. John consulted with me and he knew exactly what I wanted to achieve. He crafted new doors and drawer fronts as well as rebuilt a smaller section to bring it all together. The outcome was even better than I could have hoped for.
